How to Access SIS Student Data from BrioQuery via CMS-WTS
Please review these instructions in their entirety to ensure you have the required accounts to access this data.
BrioQuery and nVision are accessed through an application on your personal computer called Windows Terminal Services, also known as CMS-WTS. See more information about
CMS-WTS.
Contact the CMS Call Center (756-7000 option 3) if you do not have one or both of
the following accounts:
- A CMS-WTS (Windows Terminal Services) account.
- A userid and password for the SIS online system is required to access the SIS student data through BrioQuery.
In BrioQuery an Open Catalog Extension (OCE) stores information about the database that you’re connecting to. For example, the OCE called WRHSPROD provides access to the PolyData Warehouse which houses data for PeopleSoft Finance, HR, and SA (Student Administration).
The PRODACAD OCE provides access to the SIS+ student data tables.

To access student data through a CMS-WTS connection you must select the correct OCE before you logon.
- Start a CMS-WTS session.
- Select the BrioQuery application.
- From the Data Model menu, choose Table Catalog or Repository
Catalog. - Click the Select button on the logon dialog box.
- Select the PRODACAD.oce and click OK.
- Logon with your SIS UserID and Password.
- The Table Catalog or Repository Catalog will be displayed.
Saving Queries
When using BrioQuery through the WTS you may save queries that you create on
your the H drive or your local computer hard drive.
Note: Mac OS X users: Queries saved to the Mac desktop/hard drive may render
them unreadable for future use.
Saving Results
Results may be exported in Excel or Text format to your computer desktop and used without loss of data. BrioQuery exports to Excel version 2.1. You should always retain the .xls extension in the filename for Excel files and .txt extension for Text files.
To export results:
- With the Results tab selected, click the File menu.
- Select Export > Section
- Provide a name and select a location to save the file to.
