In support of campus security policies, ITS has made available Cal Poly Enterprise Authentication Services.
Authentication is the act of ensuring that a person is who they say they are by means of a username and password, i.e. credentials.
Cal Poly established the central authentication infrastructure to maintain security and comply with regulatory requirements. The authentication infrastructure consists of tools for users and the service desk to maintain credentials in addition to establishing multiple standards for application integration. When integrated, applications provide the user with a consistent experience and there is no longer a need to maintain and secure local credentials.
